QUESTION: How much space (in inches) Is considered “enough” for walking through my living room area?

ANSWER: Generally one foot six inches will do for traffic flow, however, for a main walking area three feet at minimum are needed and for wheel chair accessibility five feet are necessary. The distance between the front of a  sofa or chair and a coffee table should be about one foot and four inches, I have gotten by with one foot for a round coffee table, however, this is not considered a walk thru area but a comfortable distance for use of the coffee table.
