There’s only a few weeks before Christmas. If you are just getting started or are still looking for a few more ideas, here are a few to help you enjoy your home this season.

Wreaths:

Wreaths are an easy way to add some Holiday spirit. I find that faux wreaths make great foundations for centerpiece displays as well, but first lets talk about decorating a simple wreath.

  • Consider adding just a simple ribbon and hanging from a longer ribbon for something very simple but elegant.
  • I also like adding clusters of ornaments to mine for adding more color and shine. Clustered ornaments add a lot of impact to holiday decorating and is as simple as wiring 3 to five ornaments together. I usually use ball ornaments in different sizes.
  • You can also twine your wreath with circles of ribbon wound loosely around the entire wreath and
  • you can easily add a string of lights depending upon where it is hung.

The one to the left features the clustered ornaments with lighting and is hanging on a mirror reflecting the Christmas tree.

Centerpieces:

  • Consider using a platter or bowl to get started. This is where the foundation of a faux greenery wreath also comes in handy. This helps fill the base of the bowl or platter and isn’t a bother if some shows through.
  • Next¬† add something to the center; this can be a vase of roses, ornaments, candles or whatever you would like to showcase (maybe even a punch bowl).
  • Add some real cedar and pine and possibly others;¬† a mixture of boughs adds a lot of textures and will make your centerpiece not only smell wonderful, but more interesting. .. just poke pieces of the greenery right into the faux wreath.
  • Next consider some extra dashes of color as in a few more ornaments or beaded garland draped throughout. Fruit added along with ornaments (faux fruit if you don’t want your arrangement tampered with) adds a very festive touch to a centerpiece.
  • Before you finish you may need to add a few more pieces of shorter bough pieces to fill in.
  • And finally sprinkle with a few ribbons and some sparkling decorative snow.

If your arrangement doesn’t include candles, you may want to add some candle light to each side of your centerpiece or add a battery operated set of 20 mini lights to your festive arrangement.
